Celebrate Earth Month at Bay Day Festival in Galveston

GALVESTON, Texas – Celebrate Earth Month on Saturday at the Bay Day Festival in Galveston.

The free annual family event, which is hosted by the Galveston Bay Foundation (GBF), will be held on April 26, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Kemah Boardwalk.  The Bay Day Festival provides hands-on, interactive exhibits, activities, and demonstrations that emphasize the multiple uses of the Galveston Bay system.

Festival highlights include bay-themed arts and crafts, bay critter demonstrations and touch tanks, scavenger hunting, music, and more. Children will have fun learning about the importance of Galveston Bay in our everyday lives at exhibitor booths including Artist Boat, Back the Bay, Baytown Nature Center, Houston Green Center, Houston Zoo, Sea Center Texas, Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and more.

Attendees will enjoy the Water Wonders Corner at the Bay Day Festival. The corner will feature aquatic-themed activities and live creatures of the bay, as well as the popular fish print t-shirt station.

Festival sponsor Reliant Energy will have electric cars on hand to show consumers smart energy technology in action.
