Abandoned hotel catches fire in the Heights

HOUSTON - A fire at an abandoned hotel near the Heights caused a scare for some neighbors.

The Houston Fire Department said around 10 p.m. Wednesday, flames broke out at Marable Drive. Two people living nearby evacuated themselves as a precaution.

Officials say it took nearly 80 firefighters to put out the flames.

Firefighters were able to save the neighboring apartment complex.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
