Nefertiti Jaquez

Emmy-nominated reporter Nefertiti Jáquez joined the KPRC Local 2 News team in January 2010.

Nefertiti moved from Philadelphia, Penn., where she was a general assignment reporter at the FOX station, WTXF-29, since 2007.

Prior to that, she worked as a reporter in Miami, Fla., at the CBS station, WFOR-4.

Nefertiti spent several years as an Emma L. Bowen Foundation intern at NBC station WJAR-10 in Cranston, R.I. She learned the ins and outs of the television business by working in the news, promotions and sales/traffic departments.

Nefertiti graduated with honors from Brown University, where she studied political science and public policy. She was also founder and chair of The Brown Political Science Society and a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Nefertiti was born and raised in Providence, R.I. She's a trained dancer and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. She enjoys traveling, photography, and humanitarian causes, especially those working with inner-city kids.
